29er Hardtail

Rå Paradigm Shift Geometry.

The frame was conceived as a complete system with the front suspension set up being key to its design.

Designed for all round trail bike duty the .410 is a new breed of hardtail. The geometry is designed around a 160mm fork running 40% sag. Or a 140mm fork running 20% Sag

The reason for the 40% (64mm) sag on a 160mm fork is that it gives a much larger dynamic range to the small bump capabilities of the front end which really helps calm everything down and generate more front end grip as the wheel can stick to the ground much more effectively. This set up allows you to really drive from the front and let the super short back end follow. The faster you go the more noticeable this becomes.

When the trail smooths out and gets flowy the super short chainstays again come into their element allowing you to pump and drive through corners.

The BB appears so low, because it is based around the dynamic ride height of comparable 29er full suspension trail bikes which might have a static BB height of -35/-40mm, Combine that with front and rear suspension sag and you can easily have a dynamic BB drop number approaching -100mm when you are actually riding the bike.

As a hardtail only has front suspension and the whole bike effectively pivots around the rear axel the BB drop needs to be much greater in order to get a comfortable and stable dynamic ride height comparable to that of a full suspension bike.

The sizing of this bike is also contrary to the current trend in that to get the proper fit you need to size down not up from what you would ride in a full suspension bike. This is because as a hardtail sags (and pivots around its rear axle) the front end gets longer and lower so a 450mm reach frame ends up being a 480mm reach frame when you are riding it.

The reverse is the case for full suspension bikes as for example when I ride my 140 rear 150 front 29er full suspension bike with a 485mm reach the dynamic reach at sag point is 470mm, 15mm shorter.

34.9mm seat post optimized for long travel dropper posts. All our MTB frames come with a full polyester seat tube liner, to prevent Galvanic corrision between the steel frame and aluminium seat posts,

The geometry Charts show both static and dynamic geometry based on 29x2.5 tyres with a 160mm 42mm offset fork running 40% (64mm) of sag. The same dynamic numbers will be achieved by a 140mm fork at 20% sag.
